Relative to many of those I follow via Twitter, I am still pretty new to this whole writer/author thing and in all honesty, I am still struggling to finish my first book. During those moments where I feel frustrated or stuck, I often turn to these bloggers, writers, and authors for inspiration – to read about their experiences and remind myself that I am not alone.
As part of this process, I often stumble across really great articles like this one by Beth Cato over at Chuck Wendig’s blog, Terrible Minds. In reading them, I am reminded that these doubts and hesitations I feel are all a part of the process for everyone and that if their is a “secret” to writing, it is to persevere.
In her post Beth said, “If I didn’t write, what was I going to do?” When I ask myself that same question, I feel much the same way. I cannot imagine my life without writing.
“You must write every single day of your life… You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads…” ― Ray Bradbury
